TURKISH REGULATION ON PERSISTENT ORGANIC POLLUTANTS PUBLISHED

It had been a while since the draft of the Persistent Organic Pollutants was circulated to the stake holders by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization. On the date 14 November 2018 the regulation is published on the official Gazette with No: 30595. 

The Turkish regulation on POP (Turkish abbreviated as KOK- Kalıcı Organik Kirleticiler Hakkında Yönetmelik) is the implementation of the Stockholm Convention in to the local regulation as well as the implementation of the EU POP Regulation (EC) No 850/2004 of the EU.   

The regulation came in to force on the date of publication but has some transition and phase out periods for the identified POP substances listed on the annexes of the regulation.
