Should KKDIK Registration be done for Biocidal Products?
Active substances manufactured or imported for use in biocidal products are considered to be registered under the Biocidal Products Regulation if the following conditions are met.
(1) The substance must be an active substance intended for use in a biocidal product.
An active substance used in biocidal products is a substance that inhibits, reduces, or prevents the vital functions of harmful microorganisms such as fungi, viruses, or bacteria, or other living organisms. A biocidal product may consist solely of an active substance without any auxiliary formulation substances, or it may be a mixture containing one or more active substances.
(2) If the substance is produced or imported solely for use in biocidal products and is a registered active substance under the Biocidal Products Regulation published in the Official Gazette No. 27449 (4th Supplement) dated December 31, 2009, it is considered to have completed its registration under KKDIK.
If the substance complies with the conditions set out in (1) and (2) above and is used in a biocidal product, it is considered to be registered under KKDIK. However, it should be noted that only the quantities of active substances are exempt from the registration obligation; other substances used in the production of biocidal products are subject to registration.
