What are PBT Substances?
Regulation No. 30105, Annex 13 of the KKDIK Regulation provides the CRITERIA FOR THE IDENTIFICATION OF PERSISTENT, BIOCUMULATIVE AND TOXIC (PBT) SUBSTANCES.
These substances exhibit extremely harmful properties in terms of persistence, bioaccumulation, and toxicity in nature and on living organisms, and they possess all three criteria simultaneously. For this reason, their use in the chemical industry is generally avoided whenever possible.
In cases where these substances are present at 0.1% or higher in a mixture, the relevant sections titled “2.3 Other Hazards” and “12.5 Results of PBT and vPvB Assessment” must be clearly stated in the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) of the products.
